The Maj. Johnson Post No. 114 was based in Prosser, Benton County, WA.  The map at the bottom of the page shows the approximate location.

The post's namesake was Major John M. Johnson (c.1835-1884), Company A, 114th Illinois Infantry. He died 20 March 1884 and is buried at Bader Cemetery, Bader, Illinois.  To learn about him, see his SUVCW Burial Record (here). 

The post was chartered in July 1904 with 12 charter members.  The post charter indicates it was initially located in Prosser, Yakima County, Washington. Prosser was in Yakima County in 1904. Benton County was later created in 1905, with Prosser as the county seat.

The Post was associated with Major Anderson Corps No. 56, Woman's Relief Corps (WRC).

The last known mention of the post in GAR records is in the 1922 Department of Washington and Alaska 40th Annual Encampment Proceedings.
